The Efteling is the largest theme park in the Benelux region, considering visitor numbers and size. In terms of visitor numbers, the park ranks among major competitors such as Disneyland Paris and Europa-Park in Germany. The park has received various awards, including the "best amusement park in Europe" and has even been distinguished as the "best theme park in the world"!

ORIGIN OF THE PARK
The Efteling originated in 1933 as a sports and walking park for local residents. With expansions such as a nature park (later Fairy Tale Forest), swimming pool, playground, rowing pond, and tea house, the Efteling quickly grew into a popular day out for the area. By adding attractions such as roller coasters and entertainment, the park has evolved into a true experience for all ages. The painter and illustrator Anton Pieck played an important role in the theming and fairy-tale appearance of the park.
