car rental Zaltbommel

A car rental in Zaltbommel is possible with Amber Cars. As from February 2020, Van der Valk Hotel Zaltbommel-A2 became the 7th Valk-hotel starting a collaboration Amber Cars.

Amber Cars offers an on-demand mobility with electric cars. Guests can pick up an Amber Cars at a so-called “Amber Hub” and leave the car behind on another location in The Netherlands. Hotel Zaltbommel disposes of a hub station for 2 Amber cars.

With the collaboration, Van der Valk and Amber meet the common vision on sustainable entrepreneurship and mobility of the future. With the Amber concept, cars will be used more efficiently. Above all, less cars and less parking spaces are needed, which contributes to the quality of city life and to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

You will find the Amber Cars on the electric charge station of Van der Valk Hotel Zaltbommel, which is close to the entrance of parking lot P2 Meetings & Events. Both hotel guests and regular guests with a valid driver’s license can make use of the electric car rental system.

To use Amber, create an account on the Amber-website and download the Amber App. Do you use the car? Pick it up at a chosen Amber Hub, leave your car behind on another hub and check-out. After check-out, the costs of your trip will be written off automatically from your creditcard or debit card.

With Amber, you drive a 100% electric BMW i3. This is a hatchback car for 4 people. The car has an action radius of 200-300 kilometers. The cars have all-risk insurance. In case of damage, you only pay your own risk.

With the Amber App, you quickly make a car reservation. In the app, you mention the requested time and location and you complete your reservation. Amber ensures that a car is available on the requested time. Then, 15 minutes before starting time, you receive a notification in the App with the license plate number of your car. After your ride, drop off your car at a random Amber hub elsewhere in the country.

With the registration, a single fee of € 10 per user will be charged. Afterwards, you pay per use. Per car ride, a fixed hourly rate and a standard fee of € 0,35 per kilometer will be charged. On Monday until Friday between 08h00-18h00, the fixed hourly rate is € 2,50. On weekend days between 08h00-22h00, you pay € 1 per hour. Outside these times, you just pay the fee per kilometer. Parking on a hub is always free of charge. Furthermore, electricity and insurance is included. For frequent use of  Amber, bundles are available.
